Hello and Happy New Year!

As we enter another new calendar year, the team at the Clay County YMCA is so excited about the opportunities ahead. We’ve spent quite a bit of time curating a calendar that offers something for everyone and we’re so proud to share our plans with you. Our program guide for the first 3 months of the year is just a preview of the fun to come. While we look forward to another great year, we want to take a moment to highlight some of the positive impacts we were able to make in 2025.

Highlights of 2025:

  • New treadmills
  • Grant funding through the Indiana Department of Health to provide 50 free swim lesson sessions, 50 life jackets, and drowning prevention seminars to Clay County families.
  • Over 300 participants in the Turkey Trot 5K – (an enrollment record!)
  • Started serving ALL elementary schools in Clay County through After School Care.
  • Launched a new & better app – YMCA360. On demand classes, challenges, family-focused activities, and more!
  • Received grant funding from the Wabash Valley Community Foundation, and help from 100 Women Who Care, to completely revamp our tween space, the new Level Up Lounge.
  • Established a partnership with the Pacer organization to offer skills camps and specialized Pacer & Fever game experiences for Clay County families.
  • Launched No Place Like This Place – a national YMCA 175 year celebration campaign. We are helping the national Y celebrate our 175th birthday all of 2026. Throw back merch, member recognition, and YMCA history will be highlighted all year long.
  • Expanded our After School Care reach into Parke County with an agreement to start offering care to North Central Parke County School Corporation in January 2026.

We weren’t without challenges in 2025, either. However, our community has stepped up, time and time again, to help each other heal, grow, and show up as our best selves. The Clay County YMCA is continuously growing, and as the demand for programs and services continues to increase, we’re constantly looking for ways to improve our current spaces and explore new spaces to offer programs. The growing pains are real, and our team is committed to making the best, creative use of our resources to keep showing up for you.

Thank you for choosing us and being part of our mission.

P.S. YOU’RE INVITED! Betting on the Y – Friday, February 27th, 2026.
Our signature fundraising event helps us send kiddos to Summer Day Camp! Our camp counselors work hard to create the Best Summer Ever through crafts, camp traditions, field trips, and outdoor fun. We strive to create a summer camp experience that is unplugged and unforgettable, and we want to make sure all kids who need Summer Day Camp can attend. This event helps make that possible. Tickets will go on sale for this event on Friday, January 16th. More details to come!
