Youth Basketball Program

Get ready to dribble, shoot, and score this fall at the Vigo County YMCA! Our Youth Basketball program is designed to help young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and fundamental basketball skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

• Dates: November 3rd – December 8th

• Grades K–2: Mondays, 6–7 PM

• Grades 3–5: Mondays, 7–8 PM

Players will learn the basics of passing, shooting, and defense while developing sportsmanship and making new friends. Whether your child is new to the game or growing their skills, YMCA basketball is the perfect place to play, learn, and grow.

Pee-Wee Basketball (Ages 3–4)

Introduce your little one to the exciting world of basketball with Pee-Wee Basketball at the Vigo County YMCA! This fun and engaging program helps preschoolers develop coordination, teamwork, and confidence through simple drills and games designed just for their age group.

• Dates: November 8th – December 13th

• Days/Times: Saturdays, 10–11 AM

Our coaches focus on fun first — helping kids build a love for the game while learning the basics of dribbling, passing, and shooting in a positive, encouraging environment.

Halloween Nerf War (Ages 5–12)

Ready… aim… FUN! Join us at the Vigo County YMCA for our Halloween Nerf War — an afternoon packed with friendly battles, spooky vibes, and pizza for everyone! Kids will team up, dodge foam darts, and enjoy action-filled games in a safe, supervised environment.

• Date: Saturday, October 25

• Time: 1:00 – 2:30 PM

• Cost: Members $10 | Nonmembers $15

What to Bring: Nerf gun (no battery-powered blasters), optional costume, and your game face!
Traditional dart-style ammo will be provided.

Homeschool Gym and Swim

Looking for a fun and active way to keep your homeschooler moving? Join our Homeschool Gym & Swim program!

When: Monthly on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11 AM – 1 PM (September – April)

UPDATE: Pool will be closed starting in November 2025. PE will still run from 11-noon. Parents are expected to pick up children by noon.

What: 1 hour of gym activities + 1 hour of swimming
Break: No sessions from May – August for summer and no sessions in December.

This program provides a great way for homeschool families to stay active, develop new skills, and connect with others in a fun and welcoming environment.

Ages 5-12 years old! Registration required for every month.

Homeschool Field Day

Get ready for a day of fun, friendship, and fresh air at our Homeschool Field Day! This special event is designed just for homeschool families to come together, connect, and enjoy classic outdoor games and team challenges.
